With the development of science and technology and endless emergence of all kinds of technologies, it requires higher corresponding maintenance technology.In reliability theory, machine maintenance and replacement has always been a concern to all,especially for preventive maintenance and opportunistic maintenance.However, how to minimize the economic losses in the maintenance process, and how to make the maintenance time or maintenance period manage the maintenance at the lower cost need to be considered. Few of previous researches has focused on the maintenance policy on multi-units series system with cold standby units,especially on the study of opportunistic maintenance and preventive maintenance.The paper aims at studying the preventive maintenance TN),( of multi-units series system with cold standby units and opportunistic maintenance TL),(.First of all, the thesis respectively discusses preventive maintenance policy and opportunistic maintenance of series system of two units with two cold standby series system. Next, it discussed the advantages and disadvantages of two maintenance policies by adding cold standby units and part items. Through renewal reward theorem, it deduces the formula of the expected maintenance cost per unit time function and then the optimal preventive maintenance and opportunistic maintenance will be mentioned. The theory of differential calculus is taken to solve the optimal solution and finally examples are used to prove the validity of the theory.The main contents of the research includes the following aspects:Firstly,it compares the cost of two maintenance policies through the studies of preventive maintenance and opportunistic maintenance of two broken series system with a cold standby units. What's more, it solves the optimal opportunistic maintenance threshold L* and the best replace cycle T* of opportunistic maintenance and replacement policies. As to preventive maintenance polices, it aims to solve the optimal number of preventive maintenance and preventive maintenance period T*.Secondly, the thesis economical analysis of three components series system with two cold standby units. It plays an important role in reliability and economic cost ofthe whole system to put cold standby units in different positions. Finally, it solves the optimal threshold by analyzing the cold standby in one unit or in two different units.Thirdly,the thesis make economic analysis of opportunistic maintenance policy of three components series system with two cold standby units. Based on the model discussed in the second chapter, the thesis studies the opportunistic maintenance and replacement policy of multi-component system. To begin with, it solve optimal opportunistic maintenance threshold L*, and discuss the relationship between L* and T* to make economic analysis systemically, and finally solve the optimal policy.The above findings show that the maintenance policy put forward in this thesis can save maintenance cost,providing reference for maintenance policies of corresponding multi-component series system with cold standby. In general,opportunistic maintenance costs less than preventive maintenance, while the system of cold standby units put in the units of short working life is more optimal than in the same unit.
