The Critical Zone is located in the cross areas of earth's surface layer of lithosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and atmosphere, it is crucial in adjusting the natural environment, supporting the economic development and providing ecological services. In this paper, The Pingtong river basin located in the northern section of Long Men mountain was selected to be the research area. Based on remote sensing geology data, meteorological data, soil data, economic data and population data, combined with remote sensing and GIS technology, the critical zone changes to the influence of geological disaster risk of Pingtong river basin is studied. In the work, the following research and understanding were made:(1) The Pingtong river basin is one of the most relatively strong tectonic activity area, affected by the earthquake, the geological disasters such as collapse, landslides and debris flows occurred frequently in the basin, the production life of local people suffered serious influence. In this paper, by study the critical zone changes to the influence of geological disaster risk of Pingtong river basin, we provide an advanced data support to the disaster prevention and control and the social economic development for the area.(2) In this paper, the DPSIR method system was used. Through the remote sensing geological interpretation and hydrological analysis, we analyzed the driven factors that affect the critical zone such as geological processes, climate change and hydrological environment. Through the method of grade vegetation coverage, the land use type classification, and the matrix transformation, we analyzed the change of 3 pressure elements, including human engineering activities, vegetation coverage and land use. By the research of topography characteristics, the fitting of river profiles, the water erosion model and S-A double logarithmic diagram, we analyzed the status parameters of the critical zone at Pingtong river basin including soil type, topography, and hydraulic erosion parameters. Combination of driven force, pressure and state elements to extract 9 evaluation factors, including geological disaster point, precipitation, river, vegetation coverage, soil, slope, engineering rock group, fracture, ground surface uplift, and using analytic hierarchy process to analyze the critical zone changes to the influence of geological disaster risk. According to the critical zone of Pingtong river basin research goal and existing data, in the paper, we compiled a list of content should be captured by the critical zone observer station, and functions that the critical zone observer station should have. And come up with 3 response measures: ?1 The source of water and material should be controlled in the area in medium risk and medium-high risk level, and the monitoring and forecasting of evolution trend of the region should be strengthened; ?2 Take into account for the characteristics of yellow soil and yellow brown soil, the improvement of soil using should be suitable to region and tree type, developing economic forest, and pay attention to soil and water conservation at the same time. ?3 Consider the unreasonable activities of human being, and make the relevant laws and regulations.
