Oncomelania is the only intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum as well as an indispensable part of schistosomiasis transmission. Now synthetic molluscicides have a lot of problems, such as high cost of production, chemical pollution, drug resistance and toxicity to non-target body, which makes people's interest turn to plants and plant-derived compounds. This paper describes the current existence of chemical snails control methods and biological snails control methods on the view of chemical construction, mechanism of action and structure-activity relationships of natural extracts with snails control activity, and then conclude and clear up the plant secondary metabolites with snails control activity in order to provide the basis for the development of the new plant molluscacide.On this basis, this paper uses the different parts ethanol extract(HEE, YEE, JEE and GEE) of Solidago canadensis to exploring their influences to the effects of behavior and physiological and biochemical indexes of Bellamya quadrata, at the same time, the petroleum ether extract of its flower, leaf, stem and root adopt the GC-MS analysis.The results showed that: the ethanol extraction of flowers, leaves, stems and roots of Solidago canadensis Significantly inhibit the climbing and open operoulum, Which correlated with the concentrations of the extraction and the time of treatment. The result shows that different parts of the inhibition effect have certain differences, it ranks: HEE>YEE>GEE>JEE. By Using gradient extraction of the ethanol extract(GEE) of the roots, we got petroleum ether extract(PGEE), ethyl acetate extract(EGEE) and N-butanol extract(BGEE). Though testing their snails control activity, the result shows that the IC50 in 48 h are 47 mg/L, 79 mg/L, 112 mg/L and 38mg/L, 50 mg/L, 51 mg/L in 72 h respectively.To further explore the effects of Internal physiological activity to Bellamya quadrata by treated with the extraction of Solidago canadensis, this paper measure physiological and biochemical indexes of experimental group treated HEE?YEE?JEE and GEE after 4d, the contents of glycogen, contents of protein, peroxidase(POD), Alkaline phosphatase(AKP), and glutamate pyruvate transaminase(GPT) lower than control group; the sugar content, the protein content and the POD rise in 24 h and decreased to lower than control group in 48 h treated by PGEE, EGEE and BGEE. This suggests the ethanol extract(GEE) and the organic extract(HEE?YEE?JEE and GEE) of Solidago canadensis root may be through effect the sugar metabolism, protein metabolism and other physiological response to realize snails control activity.At last, experiment adopted GC-MS method to test(PHEE?PYEE?PJEE and PGEE) the chemical composition of petroleum ether extract of its flower, leaf, stem and root, with the result that 31, 18, 17, 44 compunds were identied respectively. There was some difference of different parts of the compound type. PHEE and PYEE are mostly terpenoids, PJEE mainly some alcohols and esters and PGEE mainly alkane substances.
