Typhoon disaster to our coastal and some inland areas has a serious impact on one of the most devastating natural disaster. In the case of global warming and urbanization, disasters such as typhoon winds, storm frequency and intensity increased, which, causes serious casualties and property losses of coastal area, serious threats to the sustainable development of human society.Shandong province in East China coastal areas, which is the province with a high incidence of typhoons over the years caused serious loss of Shandong province. Therefore, how to the prevent typhoon disaster and manage risk of coastal areas of Shandong province, to reduce damage caused by the typhoon disaster, which had become a serious problem to be solved.Based on the between 1985 to 2008 year Shandong coastal area social statistics, the typhoon disaster situation data and typhoon data, using grey correlation degree analysis assessed the typhoon disasters in coastal Shandong province comprehensive disaster situation, and analysed of typhoon disasters in Shandong coastal area integrated risk assessment and classification. The goal is to provide the theoretical basis of disaster prevention and mitigation policies and the scientific method for Shandong local governments in coastal areas. Main research work and the results are as follows:(1)Making statistics of Shandong coastal typhoon disaster data areas, analysing the typhoon comprehensive disaster situation and all kinds of disaster situation at first.Second, on the basis of typhoon disaster risk assessment conception confirmed content of typhoon disaster assessment, which included disaster-caused risk factors, exposure to hazard-bearing body,hazard-bearing body vulnerability and disaster revention and mitigation capabilities four parts.Through the data pre-processing, standardization, GIS spatial interpolation and analytic hierarchy process(ahp) to determine the weight of each index, using comprehensive weighted evaluation method evaluated and exposure of hazard-affected bodies, the vulnerability of hazard-affected bodies and the comprehensive risk assessment of the disaster prevention andmitigation capacity in Shandong province coastal areas.(2) Through the typhoon disaster situation evaluation results showed that 5.4% of the counties and cities affected by the typhoon disaster caused heavy disaster in Shandong province coastal areas, and the main distribution areas are in Rizhao city and Rongcheng city. 25% of the counties and cities affected by the typhoon caused the medium disaster, and which are mainly distributed in Rizhao city inland areas, Yantai city east coast areas and Qingdao coastal areas.37.8% of the counties and cities affected by the typhoon disaster caused small disasters, and which are mainly distributed in Yantai city inland and the west coast, Qingdao city inland,Dongying city in the coastal areas and Shouguang city. 31.8% of the counties and cities affected by the typhoon disaster caused tiny disaster, and which are mainly distributed in Binzhou city, most of Weifang city and Dongying city inland. No especially big disaster happened.Through the typhoon disaster risk assessment results can be found, 1.7% of Shandong province coastal areas of counties and cities belong to the highest risk level, which mainly distributed in Qingdao city. 22.5% of the counties and cities belong to the higher level of risk, which are mainly distributed in Yantai city and Weihai city coastal areas. 22.6% of the counties and cities belong to medium level of risk, which mainly distributed in Rizhao city, Qingdao and Yantai city inland. 31% of the counties and cities belong to lower risk level, which mainly distributed in Dongying city,Binzhou city, and Weifang city coastal areas and Rizhao city inland.22.2% of the counties and cities belong to the lowest risk level, the specifically distributed in Binzhou city and Weifang city inland.
