These years, Chinese economic increases by 7-8% every year, and the globalization trend in economic is developed rapidly. Knowledge economy and management society are coming. Confronting new situation, new challenge, and every company must meet the same problem how to manage the engineering project to get the slight profit under this new economic, and at the same time, take the action soon to promise the competitive. With the rapid development of automotive, it’s more competitive day by day. When getting the new project, management team will feel high pressure and think how to improve efficiency and reduce cost, meanwhile be satisfied the customers. Every company is beginning the full competition age. The first three quarters of this year, the increase of Chinese automotive is down, and it’s more competitive in the market. The profit of finished automobile manufactory is down, and average profit is down too. In slight profit time, it’s how to control project management, which impacts the company’s survival. Managerial talent is needed eagerly, who should realize the importance of management from product development, purchasing, PPAP and MP. They should achieve three management goals:project quality, project cost and project process.Based on AAM’s R&D project as the background, using the method of combining theory and practice, it takes advanced management ideas and management tools in AAM product R&D project. Especially it takes cost management, time management, risk management, equipment management, technical management, and other specific methods and project tooling (e.g. GANT, KEY path method) into AAM for application research.Finally, through detailed analysis, it puts forward the suggestions to future AAM R&D project management, establishes the standard system of project management processes and systems. It has certain reference significance to AAM risk response and monitoring in independent product development project management, and also provides the reference to the other enterprise in same industry.
