Study On WQDC’S Supply Chain Risk Evaluation And Treatment

This paper have studied Wartsila Qiyao Diesel Company (WQDC)’s supply chain operations. Based on the systematic way of SCOR (Supply-Chain Operational Reference model), WQDC’s supply chain risk factors were investigated by questionary, the result was identified and analyzed by statistics. And based on the identified supply chain risk factors, supply chain risks assessment index was set. Then, measured the weight and consequences of each risk factor through the Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method. The probability of each risk factors occurrence and level of whole WQDC (at the time point of investigation) supply chain risk and supply chain reliability, as well as the risk consequence level was calculated and evaluated. Then based on the theory of risk treatment, and through discussion with WQDC’s staff in concern, a qualitative guideline was figured out to deal with each identified risk factor. Meanwhile, a general method to establish an early-alarming mechanism in WQDC was stated as focus area for further study.With this paper’s study, WQDC have a clear and practical way to identify and monitor supply chain risks, meanwhile the evaluation and treatment of risks is more objective and accurate. More importantly, the people involved in this project have got much better awareness of supply chain risk management, which laid a good base for WQDC’s future development.
