A Comparative Study On International Competitiveness Of The BRICs Modern Service Trade

With the growing importance of service trade to world economy, the subject has received more and more attention. Although the service trade grows fast as a whole, the developed countries grow faster than developing countries. In recent years, with the rising of the BRICS, their service trade grows at the same time. So it’s necessary to study their conditions.After rapid development of economy in recent years, the knowledge capital intensive service department becomes the backbone of the knowledge economy. Therefore, the competitiveness of service trade not only embodies in its overall competitiveness, more important is reflected in the department of trade in services based on the knowledge of information technology of the modern service trade sector’s competitiveness.This paper makes a comparison of services trade of the BRICS in competitiveness. The first, the brief description of the golden BRICS service trade in services competitiveness research background and significance, introduced domestic and foreign scholars on the research situation of trade in services.Secondly, from two aspects of traditional service trade and the modern service trade in international trade in services on the total amount and structure of trade in services; Thirdly, choose the trade competition advantage index, international market share, and revealed comparative advantage index of three concrete evaluation index of the golden BRICS trade in services international competitiveness are analyzed; Finally by establishing the model, the article offered policy suggestions to speed up the pace of the liberalization of trade in services which include transforming the government’s functions, furthering of opening-up and the reform of educational system.
