Study On The Development Of Potato Industry In Jilin Province Under The Background Of The Staple Food

“Development strategy seminar of potato staple foods” was held in Beijing in early 2015, Vice Minister of agriculture Yu Xinrong proposed the development strategy of potato staple food。As staple food products,potato is developed industrially,which can reform the structure of agriculture,increase the grain production,maintain national food security,and promote the sustainable development of agriculture as well。 Jilin Province as the potato producing area in China,assumed responsibility to promote the development of potato staple,and meanwhile the potato staple foods,is also a rare opportunity to the development of Jilin Province potato industry. So no matter from which perspective,potato staple food development will bring opportunities to the potato industry in Jilin Province。In the background of staple food,this paper combined with actual situation of the development of potato industry in Jilin Province,to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of potato industry in Jilin Province,and finally according to the requirements of the development of potato staple food,put forward countermeasure and suggestion on the development of potato industry in Jilin Province.Firstly,based on the research of potato industry production,processing,sales situations in Jilin Province was carried,found that the current development of Jilin Province potato industry:has the characteristics of high yield in plant;the processing industry started late,so there is great potential for development;on variety,a number of high-yield,high-quality and disease-resistant new varieties was extended in many areas。In recent years,there was shown a good momentum in potato production,based on the analysis of the current situation of potato industry in Jilin Province,both the advantages and disadvantages of the potato industry in Jilin province were analyzed systematically,found that the development of potato industry in Jilin province has advantages:excellent geographical location and climatic conditions,superior convenience traffic, abundant scientific research strength and relatively complete infrastructure etc. Disadvantages are: plant dispersion,backward technology, lack of special varieties and deep processing capacity is weak and other adverse conditions. Through the analysis of the disadvantages of potato industry in Jilin Province, found that the potato industry in Jilin Province also has a deal of problems in the process of long-term development, especially under the background of local staple food to develop potato industry, which must have a new shift on consumer demand,product development,processing and storage and other aspects.In such a case,we not only to overcome our own development bottleneck,but also should learn from the experience of other main potato producing areas of the development of the potato industry. First of all to promote potato staple food is changed, creating the atmosphere of potato of staple food;Secondly,we must actively seek the support of state policies for the main potato producing areas,establishing production base of potato varieties, research and development of potato food products. The most important thing is to build the brand of potato industry in Jilin Province,promote rapid development of potato industry in Jilin province.
