In order to exploit how factors from the perspectives of management lead to differences in management performance in the automobile industry between China and Germany, we conduct this research. With more and more automobile enterprises appear in China, we are acquiring big market share and brand acknowledgement. Compared to Germany, who has a long history in the manufacture of automobiles, we are still far behind. In the top brand and sales rank, Germany firmly holds the first position in the worldwide. Though we know there is big gap between China and Germany in management performance, it is still hard to clearly point out which factor play more. Ambiguous classiffication and difficulties in measurements make it much harder. Make sure the exsit of difference in the management performance, analyse the concrete factors that lead to the difference and validate the mechanism of management factors are the main purpose of this essay. Conduction of this research will help us to improve the level of management performance of China enterprises in automobile industry, especially in the operation stages. Overall it will give brilliant reference and suggestions for further development of China automobile industry.On the basis of introduction on the phases of management performance from decades ago and maily researchs abroad and at home, we will clarify the whole management performance compositions into four main phases, which will cover the whole process. Basically we set it innovation management, operation management, target management and assessment management. Datas used in the research come from the World Management Survey, period from 2004 to 2010, samples are focused on enterprises of automobile manufacturing in China and Germany. Besides the descriptive analysis we mainly adopt three models in the paper, Wilcoxon rank testing, Factor analysis and Logit binary discrete regression. Which will validate the significant of difference of management performance, factors which voice louder and mechanism.Results indicates that the difference of management performance between China and Gernany is statistically significant, the factors which lead to the difference maily in the operation phase and target phase. More pecifically, problems of delay on supplying of raw material, allocation of semifinished material and target controlling are more obvious in China. Logit binary discrete regression also testify this aspect. However, we also find out that there is still strong margin effect of adopting advanced management models for China. Meanwhile, the low cost of human capital still plays some roles in the research, which partly fill the gap. The conclusion of this paper is that we find the significant evidence of the existence of difference between China and Germany in the management performance of automobile manufacturing industry, the mainly reason for this are the lack of advanced management designation and the rigid of supervision in execution. To address this issue we need to introduce more advandced management upper designation, absort in the right way, stress more on the assessment of target, level up all the employees’ conception to execute more effectively.
