The rapid development of China metal cutting tools market generates a large number of opportunities and huge challenges at the same time. Study Seco’s main advantages and disadvantages in metal cutting industry will improve the research on developing strategy in China market. It helps to increase the effectiveness of decision making and enhance the positioning and market share of Seco in China market.Following the conventional thinking of strategic plan, by using PEST analysis, SWOT matrix and QSPM matrix, the external environment and internal resources and abilities of Seco are comprehensively analyzed. Strategy formulation, strategy selection and strategy implementation of Seco are done.The main research contents and results of this project are following.PEST method is used to analyze the external macro environment of Seco. Porter’s 5 Force model is used to analyze the industry environment. At the same time, the resource and abilities of Seco are analyzed.On the basis of SWOT analysis and QSPM matrix analysis, strategy positioning and strategy selection for Seco are done.As a market leader, the strategy implementation of Seco is carried out from the following aspects. Enhance the cooperation with machine tool builders, provide users with tool management, enlarge market share, launch second brand for mid market and strengthen machining solutions offering. This will guarantee the achievement of strategic goals.At last, the conclusion and the suggestion for Seco’s developing strategy are given based on the analysis of all materials have been collected.
