TF Company is the mainstream supplier of VGA card in computer sector which is its main product and has been widely used by various large computer manufacturers in the whole world, such as IBM, DELL, Lenovo and so forth.With the increasingly fierce market competition, MRP has embodied more evidently than ever before that it plays a significant role in an enterprise’s competitive edge obtaining. As the British Physicist Martin Christopher points out market competition means the competition between inventory management instead of company level racing in this era of increasingly severe contention[1]. This thesis discusses the roles of MRP plays in TF Company’s strategic decision-making, the place and approaches for further improvements, and the goal of inventory cutting realized by MRP on the basis of the enterprise’s development direction. Currently, as the international competition aggravates dramatically, improvement of MRP management has a significant effect on company growth.With regard to continuous development of TF Company in the severe market competition of VGA cards, it is urgent to seek approaches to rapid and effective responses to clients’ demand. The service level for customer decides a company’s safe stock allocation. Therefore, MRP highlights its importance in the balance between service for clients and inventory management.In conclusion, this paper focuses on the discussion that an enterprise should control the inventory and improve customers’ satisfaction in the meantime. For this reason, how to fulfill MRP optimization is of vital importance: analyze and improve arithmetic logic of MRP system, research the reasons for idle stock, change the relevant factors for MRP operation, and improve inventory turnover rate. Furthermore, this thesis will also propose detailed methods for MRP operation and states some solutions for rapid response to customers’ requirements. Consequently, it is convinced that the research results would be favorable for TF Company as well as relevant enterprises in improving SCM and CRM.
