Recent years, business ethics scandals have drawn more and more attentions to the unethical behavior. Lots of scholars are doing research about this.The unethical behavior not only breed the corruption,damage the interests of organization,but will affect the organization’s reputation and competitiveness.So study the causes and effects of unethical behavior within the organization is necessary.Current research mainly focus on the individual and organizational characteristic-s,such as locus of control;ethical values;organizational ethics climate;organizational culture and so on.Besides, some scholars found that goal orientation can initiate personal motivation and specified behaviors.Goal settings is the situation factors which affecting the motivation, goal orientation is the effect of motivation of personal traits which maybe have influence on the unethical behavior. Based on these studies,I used the performance goal orientation to study the unethical behavior as the antecedent variables.Besides,some scholars found that the performance appraisal orientation can predict the individual’s unethical behavior.Performance appraisal included the development-oriented performance appraisal and resulted-oriented performance appraisal.Resulted-oriented performance appraisal reward and punish staff based on the staffs work results,so created a highly stressful and competitive work environment for employees.Based on the trait activation theory, those performance goal orientation individuals would be motivate to do the unethical behavior for improve their performance results.So I think that result-orientated performance appraisal play a regulatory role in this relationship.At the same time,I also consider that the organization level maybe have some influence on this relationship,! used the organizational ethical climate as the other regulating vanable.Thus we can do this research from two levels.This paper used the questionnaire survey to collect the data and used SPSS statistical software to analyze the data.By this research found that:1、Performance goal orientation has significant positive effect on individual unethical behavior.2、Result-oriented performance appraisal moderates and strengthen the effect of unethical behavior.3、Organizational ethical climate moderates and strengthen the effect of unethical behavior.Finally,this paper sheds light on implications for the relative theories.Besides this paper also points put its limitations and provides directions for future research.
