Study On Surplus Labor In Hunan Rural And Its Economic Effects

As a province with the lager rural population, Hunan surplus rural labor migration is a very important thing in economic development, and it is also rare phenomenon because of it longevity and large-scale. A lot of scholars have been studied on this economic phenomenon in theme and practice. In this paper, I will research on the economic effects of Hunan surplus rural labor based on the existed theory and method.Based on related date and econometric models, I try to analyze quantities effects of the surplus labor migration on economy in Hunan. Firstly, I define what are rural surplus labor migration and its economic effects. Then we can compute the number and scale of labor migration. Secondly, the econometric model of effects on level of income and urban-rural income gap will be obtained in this paper. This model makes know that the labor migration has a positive income effects, it also reduced the urban-rural income gap after 2007 because the income of migrant workers have been raised. Then we also use econometric model to explain the relation of rural labor migration and economic structure and urbanization. The results are that rural labor migration is good at economic structure improvement and urbanization. So we can conclude that rural surplus labor migration is useful of the Hunan economy development from this paper. At last, some policy proposals for improving migration of rural surplus labor are given biased on the econometric analysis.
