After ten years of New Rural Development, rural landscape in China has undergone enormous changes. Nowadays, in the context of economic restructuring, along with the accelerating process for the integration of urban and rural areas, and the continuing promotion for the concept of Beautiful Countryside and Beautiful China, traditional rural industry is now facing an urgent need for transformation.Agricultural production as the foundation, rural leisure tourism which integrates with the features of "production, ecology and life" has provided a new direction for rural industrial transformation.At the same time, it also has proposed new requirements for the planning and design within the scope of rural villages, fields and natural space.Landscape architecture as the sciences of human settlements that advocates living in harmony with nature and environment, plays an important role.Firstly, new rural development of leisure tourism definitions and characteristics are explained in the essay. Secondly, to study related theory and practice of domestic and abroad through fieldwork, research and documents collections. Furthermore, in-depth analysis was done on the development of Taiwan and Beijing that the two areas were with the most valuable reference. Through further study and comparison on the rural leisure tourism development status of the two areas, core features as villiage "production, life and ecological" based on the "three agricultural" problem were obtained. As well as specific strategies for leisure tourism new rural development under the landscape architectural concept of "industry diversified fusion, farmers life quality upgrade, and ecological sustainable development". Lastly, further research was taken on the planing and design practice of Beijing Hotspring Villige.The study of leisure tourism village constructions develop a optimization approach which based on preliminary data analysis to solve the problem that lack of regional situation, rural situation and the characteristics of rural tourism in analysis phase. And this approach is applied in the paragraph of "Taiwan--comparative study of Beijing", "leisure new rural development strategy refinement" and "Beijing Wen Quan leisure-new rural practice." And by the case analysis based on the discussion at the macro level, a more open and detailed analytical method of new rural development is discussed.
