The purpose of the thesis was to analyze and investigate how well the present reward system of W Company helps create employee work motivation. More specifically it intended to find out which aspects of the reward system functions better, and which aspects could be further developed and improved in order to enlarge employee satisfaction.The theoretical part of the study introduces different theories of Motivation and rewarding, and how they function on each other. Emphasis is put on employee behavior with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the goal setting and the total reward system.The experimental part of the thesis was conducted by using a numerical research method. The data was collected with the help of a questionnaire and two interviews.The purpose of the research was to compare the different reward systems used in W Company and find the pros and cons of them.The research results revealed how W Company can develop their reward system by involving employees in the decision making progression. The research supports the statement that a well-developed and functional reward system can increase satisfaction and motivation of employees.
