Empirical Studying On The Economic Competitiveness Of Huangshi City

With the rapid development of economy,the competition between cities is more and more intense,as a old industrial city,the comparative advantage of Huangshi City has gradually weakened.Therefore,the study about economic competitiveness of Huangshi city,will contribute to the correct understanding of the current economic situation.This paper first analyzes the present situation of the economic competitiveness of Huangshi city.In this paper,on the basis of absorbing previous research achievements carefully,the paper follow the principle of science,accessibility and comparability,select seventeen city states in Hubei province as a sample,choose the twelve variables,and establish a set of index system to evaluate the economic competitiveness of Huangshi city.Then analyze the changes of economic competitiveness of Huangshi city and make a comprehensive appraisal in three five-year plan,the paper select three representative of time nodes,which is 2014,2010 and 2005,to be on behalf of the end of “Twelfth Five Year Plan”(instead by the data of 2014),the end of “Eleventh Five Year Plan”,and the end of “Tenth Five Year Plan”.Finally,according to the present situation and the evaluation results of economic competitiveness of Huangshi city,this paper puts forward five measures to improve the economic competitiveness of Huangshi city.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.This part mainly introduces the research background and significance,domestic and foreign research status,research contents and methods,innovation and deficiencies.The second chapter is the theory of economic competitiveness. This part mainly introduces the connotation and theoretical basis of economic competitiveness.The third chapter is the construction of evaluation index system of economic competitiveness,mainly introduces the two aspects which is the evaluation index selection and evaluation method.The fourth chapter the analysis of the current situation of economic competitiveness in Huangshi city,which mainly from the development of overall economy quickly, the adjustment of industrial structure,the improvment level of opening up and the balanced development of educational technology four aspects to analyze the economic competitiveness of Huangshi city.The fifth chapter is comparative analysis of economic competitiveness between Huangshi and other cities in Hubei province. Through the collection of original data, using a combination of factor analysis and cluster analysis method,the economy of Huangshi City is compared with other cities in Hubei province during the end of “ Twelfth Five Year Plan”,the end of ”Eleventh Five Year Plan”,and the end of “ Tenth Five Year Plan”,and it is concluded that the comprehensive economic competitiveness of Huangshi City by the end of “ Tenth Five Year Plan” had rosed from ten to four by the end of “Eleventh Five Year Plan”and the end of “ Twelfth Five Year Plan”.The fifth chapter is the countermeasures to improve the economic competitiveness of Huangshi city.The paper puts forward five countermeasures to improve economic competitiveness of Huangshi city,which is promoting the adjustment and optimization of industrial structure,supporting the cluster development in industrial Park, improving the ability of innovation of the city,completing the urban infrastructure construction and increasing the level of opening up of the city five aspects.
