HuangShi is born and prospered because of mineral resource, it is a typical resource-based cities. Proven mineral resources in HuangShi, including energy, metals,non-metallic three categories78kinds, which accounted for28%of the country and55%of Hubei Province.HuangShi is the sixth largest copper base and one of the top ten ironbase in the country, and it has the most wollastonite reserves in the world. With the globalenvironmental resources increasingly serious problem for the resource-based cities hasbecome a worldwide research topic, and one of the resource-exhausted cities is veryunique urban type of a class, showing the unique pattern of growth and developmentcharacteristics. For resource-exhausted cities in transition this complex andcomprehensive big problem, the need for the various resource-exhausted cities in-depthanalysis, the development of targeted transformation plan. This paper systematicallyanalyzes the status of resource-exhausted cities, problems and their causes, and Huangshithis typical resource-exhausted cities as the research object, purpose is to analyze thetypical Huangshi city facing many problems, exhausted other resources for the futureurban industrial structure adjustment provides research methods and realistic basis.
