As the competition among joint-equity commercial banks is more and more intense, the turnover of the employees of banks is becoming frequently. However, the model of performance appraisal of a commercial bank plays an important role in attracting core employees. Therefore, the performance appraisal becomes the key subject of the strategic research of commercial banks. An efficient model of performance appraisal of an enterprise can reduce the turnover of core employees, which will largely improve the performance of this organization. At current, compared with other joint-equity commercial banks, state-owned commercial banks have lots of disadvantages in the management of human resource, especially in the field of performance appraisal. State-owned commercial banks will not be able to adapt to the future competitions if they always use the old, simple model of performance assessment. In this way, it is an important issue for all commercial banks to study how to design and establish a scientific performance appraisal system, which is consistent with the needs of growth and development.Writer choose CN branch of C bank, which is a state-owned commercial bank as her research object in this article. According to the present situation of the performance assessment of CN branch, writer adapts varied research methods such as questionnaire, empirical analysis and theory discussion in order to find existing problems and provides advices.This article is divided into four parts. In the introductive part, the writer introduces the research meaning, research content, research methods and so on. In the second part, the write illustrates some relative definitions, brings in the concept of "pay system", describes the theories of performance appraisal, analyses the factors of performance of employees, and summarizes the main methods of performance assessment, like 360-degree feedback system, Balanced Score card and Key Performance Indicator. In the following part, writer represents the organization structure of CN branch, the age and educational background of employees and relative analysis. According to the present situation of CN branch, writer analyses the current system of performance assessment and tries to find out the problems. In the last chapter, writer raises suggestions to the performance appraisal system. Writer separates the employees of CN branch into different groups by their positions, and provides improvements to the appraisal system according to different positions. Writer strives to make a most profitable system to each line of the branch, in order to promote the long-run growth of CN branch.
