The career anchor theory is a set of career planning theory, which is studied and summarized by the famous human resource management expert and professional psychologist E.H.Schein. Its main content is to study the interaction and relationships between enterprises, organizations and individuals. Career anchor theory research is to help the individual to have a certain tendency in the choice of occupation, which is of great help to solve the problem of career development and it is becoming an effective theory tool in career anchor theory. With the development of the science and technology, people are faced with many career choices, and there will be much confusion and disorientation in this process. The reason for this is that the occupation of the denotation and connotation is wider and wider, making many people have a blur career planning, not let alone clear career anchor types. In such circumstance, career anchor theory is trying to help enterprises to guide the staff forming their own professional planning; meanwhile, it can help employees to develop their professional values, including technical ability, management ability, service ability and other abilities.Career anchor is a reflection of individual core values when he chooses his career, it is also an effective theory tool to solve the problem during one’s career development. Through domestic and foreign research and investigation about the career anchor theory, this paper analyzes the characteristics of different career anchors and their measurement methods. In combination with the current career management status of young staff in Wuxi Public Transport Company, career anchor subscales, questionnaires, interviews, data analysis are designed to obtain different career anchor distribution and variance analysis based on factors such as age, gender, educational background and position. Finally, from the point of organization and individual level, this paper put forward feasible suggestions of career management for young staff in Wuxi Public Transport Company. On one hand, to make young employees more clearly and realistically understand their own interests, strengths and development needs, formulate specific career development plans and goals; clearly see their future development in the organization. On the other hand, to guide the state-owned enterprises to build long-term cooperation and partnership with young staff through employees’ multi-channel career development and management.
