The essence of modern enterprise competition is the competition of talents. To be in an invincible position in the competition, the Enterprises must have a good talent; Meanwhile, the talents must be reasonably and effectively configured. Human resources as the main body of the resources of the dominant enterprise, high quality management talent of each enterprise is the most dynamic, who responsible for the important factors of enterprise vitality, has a vital role in the normal operation and development of enterprises. In the fierce market competition, the individual quality and the work condition of the management personnel often decide the success or failure of the enterprise and the destiny. Whether the enterprise can get rid of the difficult position and win the profit, meet the challenge of the future economic globalization competition, a key factor is whether the enterprise can establish a competent management talent team. Reserve management as the basis of the management team and the entrance, their selection and reserves are scientific and effective, whether the ability to train in place, directly related to the backbone of enterprise middle-level management is good or bad, and even affect the operation and development of enterprises in the future.This paper will take the reserve management of FAW R&D Center as the research object. Through literature analysis, empirical research, expert group argumentation and other methods, constructing the competency model of reserve management personnel of FAW R&D Center, Improve the reserve management personnel selection system. At the same time, this competency model and selection system is applied to the actual work of the selection of reserve management personnel of FAW R&D Center. At last, from four aspects of human resource management, performance management, salary incentive, training and development, succession planning to enhance the reserve personnel competency quality, and improve the reserve team building work put forward ideas.
