GS group since its inception in 2001 has rapidly grown from a single industry enterprise to a state-run enterprise group with businesses of highway, railway, port, logistics, real estate, finance, materials, and media. In its high- speed development, GS group has refined a "Smooth and Harmonious Culture"(SHC), which greatly promoted the development of the enterprises, achieving and maintaining its leading position in the industry. However, the current domestic macroscopically environment is complex and changeable, in the face of the transformation and upgrading of the enterprises, whether the corporate culture of GS group can adapt to the changing environment or not becomes the main problem discussed in this paper.Basing on previous theories and practices, through literature analysis, interviews, and other research methods, and combined with the development of GS group, this paper analyses the present situation of enterprise culture construction of GS group, discovering problems and analysing the reasons. At the same time, on the basis of the above analysis, this paper tries to optimize and improve GS group enterprise culture construction plan, including the improvement of enterprise culture idea, principles, goals and recommendations for enhancing the enterprise culture. Finally, reasonable safeguard measures on effectively improving the enterprise culture will be posed.Through the analysis, SHC has played a positive role in the enterprise production and management to some degree. In order to fit the new situation of the enterprise development, GS group should transfer from “cultural construction” to “cultural management”, and be “people- oriented”. Rooting in the traditional culture and geographical advantage, highlighting the SHC and building brand, enhancing the innovation ability and cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit, GS group will further improve its cultural evaluation system.Hoping this paper can generate practicable theories and operation system for improving GS group culture, and provide kernel impetus for the development of GS group, promoting the realization the upgrade of its strategically transition, boosting the GS group ascend the fortune global 500.
