Competitiveness Of Thai Cassava And Its Products In The International Market

Agriculture is the traditional Thai industry, It plays an important role in the Thai economy. Thailand is the world’s largest rice exporter, is also the world’s leading rubber, cassava, sugar cane producer and exporter.2013, Thailand’s exports of agricultural products amounted to 22.71 billion US dollars, accounting for 9.9 percent of total domestic exports value ratio. Currently, Thailand is the world’s second largest producer of cassava, only this in Nigeria, and is the largest exporter of cassava. Thailand’s total area of 1,386,605.5 hectares of cassava cultivation, the main producing areas in the northeast, north and central, northeast where production accounts for more than half the country’s total output.2013 Thailand’s cassava output of 30.228 million tons, exports amounted to US $ 3245.5 million.In this paper use cassava in Thailand and global of international trade for the study background, international trade theory and international competitiveness theory as the theoretical basis, collected through global and Thailand cassava trade and related data, collation and analysis, the use of regression analysis and international competitiveness index of Thai cassava current status in the international market competitiveness. And analyzes the current situation of China-Thai cassava Trade with Thailand cassava trade competitors. The paper compare the share of exports to cassava between Thailand and major exporting countries to better understand the Thai cassava competitiveness in the international market. Finally, looking for truly improve the competitiveness of the Thai cassava trade, and promote the rapid progress and development of cassava trade measures.
