Wood is a irreplaceable resource in assuring national economic construction and meeting people’s needs in living. While the world economy and people’s living quality are improving, the wood consumption is growing constantly. However, the forestry in the world is been destroyed and the area of forest is shrinking. As a result, the conflict between the swelling needs for wood and the decreasing supply of forestry is highlighted all around the world. China, the important nation both in supply and consumption, confronts the same problems.Cameroon, located in Africa where has incomparable amount of forestry, is one of the country rich in forestry. The total amount that Cameroon exported has reached 892404 million dollars, but mainly to Europe and America. The wood trade between China and Cameroon has a history of 44 years and the trade flow has reached 103816 million dollars. Though the total amounts of wood trade is larger than that in 2003, it is still small compared with the amount exported to Europe and America. The question is why the wood trade between the two countries is so small? Are there problems occurred in those trade practice? What should be done in erasing the conflict between supplies in and need for wood in China? This paper firstly analyses the needs for and supplies in wood in China; then researches on the forestry and relative policies in Cameroon; thirdly, explores the trade between China and Cameroon and analyses the problems; finally, gives suggestion to the further development of wood trade between China and Cameroon. This paper will expose the condition and problems of wood trade between the two countries by positive method.
