Along with social economy continues to grow rapidly, our country’s energy demand is also increasing. In this process, the mode which is excessive dependence on energy to develop economy has met more and more serious challenges, such as wasting large amount of energy, low efficiency of energy and increasing pollution of environment. Faced with such serious situation, improving the energy efficiency and resource utilization is the best way to solve the problems. And it is also the key point of changing the pattern of economic development,adapting with the new environment of economic development and constructing beautiful China. The paper was just based on those facts, combined the theoretical analysis and empirical research method, made the depth analysis to the mechanism of energy efficiency effecting on the economic growth. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1) Basing on total factor framework, and using the non-oriented undesirable outputs super efficiency SBM(slacks-based measure) model measured Chinese 29provinces’ total factor energy efficiency. And then analyzed the convergence of regional energy efficiency. The results of analysis show that: in the present stage, our country’s each province’s energy efficiency has big difference. The value of the eastern region of energy efficiency is highest, and then in turn is the central region’s and western region’s. But the basic trend is steadily rising up. The energy efficiency convergence of three regions presented their own laws. Energy efficiency of the eastern region and central region exists convergence, it’s present provinces’ which contain that two regions gap of energy efficieny is shrinking; But the western’s does not exist convergence, it’s present provinces’ which contain this region gap of energy efficieny is increasing. This conclusion not only scientifically reveals the situation of provincial energy efficiency in China, also for rational allocation of energy resources,increasing energy efficiency and shrinking energy efficiency gap between provinces provides guidance.(2) On the base of Cobb-Douglas production function model, set the panel threshold model of thel economic growth, and using the panel data of our 29 provinces between 2000-2012 years, analyze the mechanism of energy efficiency effecting on the economic growth. Through the results of testing threshold effect found that model has two threshold which show that along with energy efficiency rising up, The coefficient of energy factor(include energy efficiency and energy consumption) contribute to the economic growth will change twice; And from theestimates of the model results found that: the contribution of the production factors to economic growth is positive.Among them:the capital factor’s contribution is highest,the degree of contribution is 0.6606; Labor factor’s contribution is lowest, the degree of contribution is 0.1635; By estimate found that law of energy factor contribution to the economic growth along with improvement of energy efficiency is as follows:When the energy efficiency is less than 0.3846, the energy factor’s contribution coefficient is 0.2311; When the energy efficiency is greater than 0.3846 and less than 0.6533, the energy factor’s contribution coefficient is 0.2454; When the energy efficiency is greater than 0.6533, the energy factor’s contribution coefficient is0.2581.So, the energy efficiency has promoting effect on economic growth by influenceing the energy factor’s coefficient. This conclusion not only explains the necessity of improving energy efficiency, but also scientifically reveal the mechanism.of energy efficiency influenceing on economic growth. |
