With the rapid development of industrialization, the surge of energy consumption and the aggravation of environment pollution, the coordinated development of regional industry, energy and environment has become a focus of research on the coordinated development of man-earth relationship in human geography today. As an outstanding industrial, economic and trading center of the Yangtze River Delta, the effective ways are taken by Jiangsu Province to resolve conflicting issues between industrial development and protection of resources and environment, including accelerating the industrial transformation, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction and establishing a low-carbon-emission industrial system. Taking Jiangsu Province as an example, based on the analysis of the industrial development, energy consumption, and the characteristics of carbon emissions, this paper discusses the relevancy among industrial development, energy consumption and carbon emission and reveals the influential factors, which can provide some scientific foundations for the greening transformation of industry. This paper makes an analysis in the following three aspects after studying the structural optimization related with carbon emissions in industries of Jiangsu Province. In terms of industrial structure, firstly, the pattern gives priority to small enterprises, which is characterized by low degree of concentration and meet no requirements of scale economies and many of which show the features of smallness, comprehension, poor consolidation and weakness. Secondly, the pattern was gradually formed that puts state-owned enterprises as the main body and diversifies foreign-invested, private, limited-liability, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-funded enterprises. Thirdly, some industries play an advantageous role, such as the industries of communication equipment, chemical materials and chemical products manufacturing, pillar industries of electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing. And the industries of communications equipment, computers and other electronic equipment manufacturing are enjoying an increased proportion in the whole Jiangsu Province. In terms of carbon emissions, firstly, by the methods of grey correlative analysis, this paper divides 35 industrial sectors into four categories: high carbon discharge associated industries, low carbon discharge associated industries, high carbon emissions associated industries and low carbon low correlation industry. Secondly, by the methods of the logarithmic mean weight, namely Divisa, this paper expounds three main driving factors influencing the industrial carbon emissions during the study period, which are energy structure, energy efficiency and income. In terms of the adjustment of industrial structure and four main industrial under the background of carbon emissions, this paper puts forward some feasible countermeasures which can optimize the industrial structure. Overall, the industries should strive to develop high-tech industries, research and develop new technologies and new products in the manner of innovation when confronted with the adjustment of industrial structure, which is beneficial to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the industrial pollutions.
