The Study On The Impact Of Producer Services Agglomeration On Urbanization

Since the reform and opening up, China entered the stage of rapid development of urbanization, population and economy as the main indicator to measure the level of urbanization is significantly improved. However, under the influence of traditional industrial development, there are many obvious problems, which has already seriously hampered the upgrading of industrial structure and the sustainable and healthy development of the city, such as extensive development model, lack of population concentration ability, low economic efficiency and so on. At the same time, The producer services has the characteristics of high value-added, high employment elasticity, high technology and knowledge-intensive and so on, therefore, the development of producer services agglomeration can not only help improve the proportion of urban population, but also can greatly optimize the urban industrial structure and improve the economic efficiency. So the development of producer service agglomeration has far-reaching significance to the depth development of urbanization.This paper studies from two aspects of theoretical mechanism and spatial econometric analysis. First, the theoretical mechanism of the impact of the producer services agglomeration on urbanization. This paper makes an expansion of the Hotelling’s linear economic models, and establishes the mechanism of the producer services agglomeration to the urbanization form two aspects. Second, the empirical measurement of the producer services agglomeration and urbanization, and the empirical study on the influence of the producer services agglomeration on urbanization with China’s provincial panel data of 2004-2012 by using of space economic analysis.Studies have shown that: ①the increase of the producer services agglomeration can promote the population and economic urbanization through the urban population growth and economic efficiency improve.Theoretical studies show that, with the continuous development of producer services industry, the city will continue to expand the scale and promote the formation of a new city. On this basis, the results of empirical analysis also validates this conclusion;②The producer services agglomeration and industrialization have a more reasonable match, however the match of the opening level and expenditure level need to be further improved; ③The influence factors of the population and economic urbanization are different. Therefore we should consider the regional and development stage difference in promoting urbanization. In the model of the population urbanization,the level of economic development, transport infrastructure, opening level, educational and cultural level and so on has a significant positive effect on urbanization, however industrialization has a significant negative effect on it; In the model of the economic urbanization, the level of economic development, transport infrastructure, non-state-owned units workforce, fixed capital formation, financial expenditure has a significant positive effect on the urbanization, however industrializat ion and technological level has a significant negative effect on it. Finally, according to the research and the actual of China’s urbanization development, In order to make the producer services agglomeration promote the urbanization process better, this paper put forward four suggestions briefly and point out the future research directions.
