Study On Complexity Management Of Multiple Category Materials Base On The Server Cable

According to the more fiercely globalized competition around the world, more and more companies would like to increase the product variety to remain their competitive advantages and gain more market share. However, most of them don’t consider the impact of the product variety to the whole supply chain, especially the complexity cost derived from the product related materials variety.This thesis analyzed the basic circumstance of D company first and base on the server cable identified the root cause of the complexity of the multiple category materials; Secondly, qualitatively analyzed the impact of the complexity from multiple materials, and quantified the complexity impact cost due to the cable variety and figured out the balance point with the cable complexity cost-revenue curve; Thirdly, with the considering the circumstance of the D company and the multiple objective programing methodology, introduced a method named multiple objective programing and rebuild the cable design process to improve the management of the cable complexity, so that helped D company minimize the cable complexity cost while increasing the product variety.
