This paper use the Faurecia Program Management Procedure, through making exhaust program work breakdown, program activity sequencing, program activity time estimation & program timing plan to get networking planning of vehicle exhaust system program. And then we use the Critical Path Method(CPM) to get the Critical Path of exhaust system program, then we use this critical path into Program timing control which can increase the control level during exhaust system development & launch Phase.This paper also apply 8D analysis method on one PV failure issue,figure out the effect that 8D can contain the risk in beginning of the problem happened, also we can get the root cause of the problem and lessons learned which can give the experience & enlightening for the risk management of exhaust system program.According the research result, we can find that the identify the Critical Path is the key to control the program timing for Exhaust System Program. The application for 8D analysis method testify the feasibility and effectiveness on the risk containment & avoid following risk when Exhaust System Program meet risk. Other auto parts can use this paper for reference on program timing control and risk management.
