Calculation of land productive potential is the basis of studying the bearing capacity of land resources, is the key content of land resource study.To calculate and evaluate the potential land production can see intensity of utilization anddevelopmentof the regional land resources, the limiting factors of thegenerated output andthe prospect of grain production, and the capacity ofpopulation and so on.In order to increase the level of utilizing land resources in Xinzheng City, this text used gradual reduction model of the mechanism method to estimate the production potential of land resources of Xinzheng City quantitatively, introduced the PI index of land productivity index model for soil correction coefficient to modify climate productive potential, used production potential index to evaluate arable land productivity level.The results showed that:(1)the best quality of soil in Xinzheng City located in xin cunzhen、guanyinsizhen and chengguan xiang,correction coefficient reachesd 0.58,the worst quality of soil in Xinzheng City located in mengzhuang zhen,correction coefficient reachesd 0.48,correction coefficient of all towns in Xinzheng City reached an average of 0.54.(2)the highest level of land in xinzheng is located in the south-east of xinzheng,such as xindianzhen、guanyinsizhen、lihezhen、chengguanxiang、xincunzhen and hezhuang zhen,the lowest level of land in xinzheng is located in longhuzhen、guodianzhen、xuedianzhen、longwangxiang and baqianxiang.(3)the highest of arable land potential productivity is xincunzhen 20848.08 kg/hm2 the lowest is mengzhuangzhen 17236.32 kg/hm2,arable land potential productivity reached an average of 19393.84 kg/hm2.(4)According to the relationship between the real production capacity andpotential production capacity in each villages,The most increasing potention is longhuzhen 13688.97 kg/hm2, The lowest increasing potention is guanyinsizen 6549.96 kg/hm2,The average increasing potential is 9078.11 kg/hm2。(5)The biggest potential indexes of production reached 74.04%,The lowest potential indexes of production reached 31.80%,The potential indexes of production reached an average of 47.39%,so there still existed considerable land production potential to be exploited.The conclusion is using "mechanism" to measure the cultivated land productive potential is an ideal method of calculating cultivated land potential production,objective and reasonable results are obtained,can reflect the production capacity of cultivated land, can provide a scientific basis for regional layout of agricultural production and the local land resources utilization.
