Performance management, which is the core of human resource management, includes a series of management activities. Through the way of promoting continuously performance improvement, performance management will propel the company to achieve their business strategic goals, including but not limit to guide by the performance targets, performance coaching throughout the whole management, performance appraisal inspection, performance feedback and internal performance system improvement. For businesses companies, they shall instruct employees to adjust and calibrate their own behaviors or results, and then meet the company’s objectives, requirements, standards, and ultimate business development goals. Staff can also get benefit from performance management, and they can proceed to their own career development, improve their incomes, promote their career position and so on. So, for both companies and employees development, performance management always plays an extremely important role. Now, many companies have already realized the importance of performance appraisal, but due to counterproductive operation in reality, they cannot realize the expected goals, and possibly even worse.Based on collecting relative theories about performance management and other common assessment methods, this article summarizes some basic thoughts and methods on the performance management system building and optimizing. This article chooses CL company as a case study, and collected problems arising from performances management by questionnaire survey, and analyzed the root of the problems. Based on above, mainly started from setting and breaking down the goals of CL company performance appraisal, this article clarified the job responsibilities of each position in the performance management, and further to clear responsibilities in different position level; rebuild performance appraisal procedures and appraisal program, especially pay attention to assessment of the main division; determine different methods of performance management by dividing the different ways in different assessment bodies. And then, closely connect the employers’ focusing with feedback of evaluation results, and make the performance management system more unprejudiced, impartial and reasonable. Last but not the least,propose the improvement measures on optimizing and perfecting the performance management system under smooth execution.As a microcosm of economic development, CL company is a typical representative of companies entering rapid development stage, and facing the problems rising from its performance appraisal. Based on the deep analysis on the present situation of CL company performance management, this article intergrades theories with actual practice, and propose the optimization plans of building and evaluating the performance management system. I hope it would help to the companies on performance management.
