Currently, psychological stress has become one of the significant factors that affect employees’ health and job performance. Concerned about the mental health of employees as well as providing staff with psychological assistance services has increasingly evolved into an important part of corporate culture innovation, employee welfare and human resource management.Employee Assistance Program(EAP) is a systematic, long-term benefits and supporting project which is provided by an enterprise for its employees. EAP involves diagnosis for organizations by professional staff, as well as providing professional guidance, training and consulting for employees and their immediate families. It aims to help solve a variety of psychological and behavioral problems affecting task performance of employees and their family members, improve employees’ job performance in the enterprise, and improve enterprise working environment.This research is focused on CH company’s activities of introducing Employee Assistance Program(EAP). First we demonstrated the necessity and importance of this program, then we carried out a brief analysis of EPA literatures at home and broad trying to form the theoretical basis; After that we conducted a sample survey of the mental health status of CH employees and tried to find out psychological pressure problems in an empirical way. Based on this research, combined with the requirement of establishing corporate culture and developing party affairs, we designed CH EAP project and set up the mechanism and platform for employee psychological care. Finally, according to the actual needs of CH company, we launched a series of hierarchical EAP activities and assessed their effectiveness. Following are some of the results of the research:1. The study of EAP literatures showed that there was lack of application research of EAP, especially in large-scale companies.2. Through cross-departmental collaboration CH co-promoted the implementation of EAP, explored new ideas of corporate culture establishment, enhanced new channels of communication of culture construction department with employees, found an effective starting point for enterprise party committees, trade unions, and the Communist Youth League, as well as carved out new ways for the innovation of the above entities.3. CH EAP activities, in the form of company’s cross-departmental collaboration mechanism, joint execution mode from both inside and outside the company, rich activities and services in compliance with its own characteristics(EAP publicity, large lectures, small salon, counseling on the Care Day, online psychological self-assessment, QQ counseling, etc.), received active participation of the employees. The assessment process shows that it played a nice positive role in employees’ understanding, accepting, mind-changing toward EAP.In sum, this study is focused on the exploration of the application of EAP in large-scale companies. The research methods we used, EAP working mechanisms and execution model will hopefully serve as a good reference for other large-scale companies.
