In recent years, SAAS(Software as a service) is becoming more and more popular in the software market. As a new software model, it provides a new way for enterprise customers in software application. Compared with the process of traditional enterprise application, the process of hardware, and software purchase, and software installation and implementation cycle are greatly shortened, for the enterprise customers, application software TCO(Total Cost of Ownership) is greatly reduced. At present, the SAAS industry has been mature in the area where IT industry is developed, such as Europe and the United States. In China, it’s developing fast, although it just got started. Due to lack of mature experience, SAAS service providers will inevitably encounter many problems and challenges in the development process.In this paper, through the analysis of the current situation of the development of SAAS at domestic and abroad, using SWOT analysis method of management field, combined with the difference of traditional software and the SAAS and personal practical experience, put forward the views on development model and the growth of SAAS services provider.The research is carried out by using the combination of theoretical and practical research methods. Because SAAS is an Internet based application, a lot of information of the theory is draw from the Internet, such as the basic concepts of SAAS and present development status at domestic and abroad. Then combining with practical experience, analysis the essence of SAAS, and put forward views on the development of SAAS. For the most important part of this paper, the SAAS service provider growth pattern research, using SWOT method as basic theory foundation, then discuss how to set the development direction and mode, how to develop product and services and how to do the SAAS marketing. The research conclusions provide some reference value for the development of domestic SAAS service provider better.
