The Study Of The Leading Industries’ Selection In Underdeveloped Areas

Regional leading industry selection should be scientific and rational, which leads to a positive impact on its economic development path and speed. As the entire region’s core economic development department, leading industry undoubtedly plays an important role: Based on their own development and growness, they can pull with the progress of related industries, and ultimately revitalize the economy as well as keeping the energy.As for a particular country, if the development of its regional economy stays in a long-term imbalance and increases polarization constantly between regions, it is bound to lead to imbalance in the distribution of productive forces, elements of the configuration and unreasonable flow, restricting the release of the country’s overall economic potential, expanding the inherent contradictions between regions; and ultimately lead to the weakening of overall national strength. Appearently, reasonable and balanced development between regions for long-term stability of a country has immeasurable impact.Build its own leading industries selection system scientifically to optimize their resources, accelerate industrial upgrading and improve regional development outlook. All in all, when it comes to producing of the. industrial development strategy in less developed areas, the scientific selection of its leading industries is rather critical. More than that, it is not only the key point to optimize the industrial structure, but also an effective way to enhance its regional competitiveness and to release vitality.Accordingly, based on regional economics, industrial economics and development economics, this article summarized the research of dynamic selection of leading industry. Then I refine connotation of the less developed areas and the leading industry. Reference to the regional dominant industry selection criteria, principles and constraints, I successfully build a selection system for leading industries in less developed areas. After that, Taking Lishui City as an example, I conducted an empirical analysis about the selection of industrial leading industry in less developed areas through the input-output and entropy method, and then gave some suggestions for its further development.
