| The development of industry and urban in Liaoning province is at a critical stage. The policy of invigorating Northeast old industrial bases brings new golden chances to its industrial upgrading and reforming, and new pattern urbanization policy makes its urbanization quality improve steadily. As a carrier of economic construction, the vast county scale’ integration of industry and city is especially important. Industry-city fusion is developmental idea relative to separation. Vigorously developing industry-city fusion is not only the requirement of industry development, but also the only way to urbanization. Based on the previous studies, this paper evaluates the spatial evolution of seventy-seven counties or downtowns in Liaoning province by selecting twenty-six indexes of industrial development and urban construction from 2005 to 2013. It also analyzes the spatial different types in terms of industrial output level, the level of technical support, modernization and extraversion, urbanization quality level, infrastructure construction level and public service level based on the Nelson method. The results show:1.Compared with the disharmony of all the counties in 2005, there is four county become industry-city fusion in 2010, and the proportion of below moderate disharmony is declining slightly. Liaoning’s level of industry-city fusion has increased in 2013. There are thirteen counties in fusion, but the rest of counties are still in a disharmony state. The comprehensive strength of county have a significant impact on industry-city fusion.2.The regional variation on industry-city fusion is great. Results show that the spatial different pattern is “middle-south high, west-north low†on the whole. The spatial increasing gap between east and west region is prominent. The middle-south region is better than northwest. The regions with better fusion are located in the center city around because the center city playing the significant role in radiating and promoting. It shows obvious center-periphery structure, and the development of industry is the main influencing factor.3.All counties are divided into five types: central city-stimulating type has nine municipal districts, and the leading role of their central city is outstanding. Its own economy-leading type includes four counties, and its main driving forces are the relatively highly developed economy. Twenty-one counties belong to industry-lagging type, high urban construction level and lagging development of industry become their common features. City-lagging type contains twenty counties. The key limited factors are low level of city development. Industry-city-bi-lagging counties are the rest of the counties and have a low level in industry and city.Basing on the reality, some differential development advices of reinforcing the county integration of industry and city have been given in this paper. The surrounding areas of core city should pay attention to the industrial interaction and share with the public infrastructure with main urban area. The peripheral prefectures of central city and suburbs of generic city let single-function industrial park and urban community integrate on the function and space; The economy of county rural areas is weaker. These areas should take advantage of local resources to accelerate the development of competitive industries, and make urban and rural areas as a whole. |
