| In recent years, coastal tourism is more rapid development in domestic and abroad tourism of frontier areas. The coastal tourist town under the influence of formation of the tourist town, it is one of the main direction of the coastal tourism and urbanization. In the current domestic and foreign tourist resort, the coastal tourist holiday resort is the mainstream type, in the development of the holiday resort has a leading position. As the holiday tourism market and Marine economic development in the era of increasingly mature, and vacation tourism and holiday resort policy is put forward, on the basis of rapid urbanization, coastal development and construction of the resort became one of the hot spot of recent coastal tourism development. Here we combined the data sources from the social survey,GIS technology and Expansion intensity index to analyze tourism land-use spatial pattern evolution for the Dalian Jinshitan Tourist Holiday Resort from 1998 to 2012.(1) quantity changes: the amount of land used for tourism present the change trend of sustained growth. In 1998-2003, tourism land expansion intensity index of 2.10, 2003-2007, expansion intensity index is 0.56, the land used for tourism expansion intensity index for the land used for tourism from 2007 to 2012, three period of tourism land use change, in turn, slow growth, rapid growth, stability and development.(2) Source: From 1998-2003 cultivated land is the main source of growth of tourism land-use,second is garden land and the construction of subsidiary land. From 2003-2007 other land is the main source of growth of tourism land-use,followed by cultivated land and urban and rural residents’ land. From 2007-2012 cultivated land is the main source of growth of tourism land-use,followed by other land and garden plots.(3) Function changes:Dalian Jinshitan National Tourist Holiday Resort gradually changed from a single function of traditional town to integrating accommodation,shopping,dining and entertainment.(4) The spatial pattern of change: From 1998-2003,tourism development is mainly around‘sea,road and stone’tourism land-use spatial form in an‘n’glyph layout mode. From 2003-2012,tourism development centered around the‘mountain,sea,road and stone’tourism land-use spatial form expanded from coastal to inland in planar.(5) Driving mechanism: Regional advantage index provides a directional indicator for coastal tourism development. To a certain extent,the coordination degree of resident affects the development time of the government and tourism enterprise. The rational choice of the market demand is the intrinsic motivation of the function transformation and land use change of thetown. To adapt to different stages of travel demand,regulation and planning is providing support for relative stability of tourism land-use. Therefore:internal drive as the foundation and driving force,external drive as the support,and form tourism special driving mechanism of land use spatial pattern evolutionJin shi tan from traditional seaside town, for the development of national scenic area in the 1980 s, was named the national tourist resort area in the early 90 s, has been rated as national 5 a-class tourist resort, its development and construction in our country’s tourist resort representative and typicality.
