Expressway Service Area Business Strategy Research

In the 1930 s, the western countries started to provide special services for motor transport of transport infrastructure, the expressway. The expressway is the new technological achievements in the 20 th century major breakthrough in the field of transport infrastructure and the concrete application. The selection of the national academy of engineering held by the United States in the 20 th century picked out the20 major scientific and technological achievements and breakthroughs.In this selection,car came second and the expressway system ranked No. 11. Thus, cars and services for the expressway plays a crucial role on the development of modern civilization. Experience in domestic and at abroad shows that the expressway has been faster, larger capacity to hold the cars, low cost of transportation,been safety and comfortable and other economic and technical characteristics.The expressway has an advantage of the intensive utilization of land resources, reducing energy consumption and environmental pollution, improving the traffic safety, playing a positive role on the social and economic sustainable development. With the growing demand for our cars, it has brought more pressure on the traffic system in expressway transportation in China. At the same time, as the number of cars increasing, the quality of the service in the expressway is need to be promoted in our country. Based on this, the future of the expressway service area will be discussed in this paper.This paper will do some research on the management of the expressway service area, then, explore the new management model. Through the example of Jiangxi and Guangdong Provincial Expressway service area, this paper will do analysis on the operating environment of the expressway service area. After that,these findings will do good to the coordination of relationship between economic and social ones, make standardized management work,strengthen the control of the cost,and so on. On the other hand, these research will offer reference to the promotion of the service quality on the expressway service area.
