The Motivation Factors Affect Foreign Students To Visit Indonesia

This research focuses on the motivating factors affect foreign student tourists to visit Indonesia. The priority contexts of the motivations include: the aspects of Education, curiosity, experience, culture, scenery, food, business, promotion, security, budgeting, visas, accommodation and also tourism destination factors. The research itself utilizes quantitative research accompanied with descriptive design approach.In addition, this technique is approaching a quantitative data gathering system with the population of the research sample taken from 100 foreign students in china in the year of 2014-2015. The samples were taken through random sampling method, from seven major continents(North America, South America, Australia and Oceania, Asia, Africa, Europe and Antarctic).From the analysis with Likert scale, it could be concluded that the rank for aforementioned factors could be positioned: 1) the culture factor as the main priority component with 4.24, followed by the landscape factor scheme with 4.01 point. The next place filled by the experience factor with 3.95 point and security factor with 3.87 point and lastly, the promoting factor with 3.12 point. 2) Jakarta is convinced as the most favorable place for to be visited for foreigners among the twelve major tourist destinations, such as Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bandung and Sumatera island, Kalimantan island, Sulawesi island, Maluku island, Papua island, Lombok island and Komodo island based on foreign student in china with the value of Jakarta 2.02 point followed by Bali island with 1.90 point, Sumatera island with 1.47 point four is Jogjakarta 1.36 point, followed by Surabaya 1.35 point, five is Komodo island 1.33 point, six Bandung 1.29 point, seven is Papua island 1.27 point, eight is Kalimantan island 1.23 point, nine Lombok island and Sulawesi island with same point(1.19) and Maluku as the least favor with 1.17 point.The research also revealed that the government should also involve the broader public domain in maintaining the tourism promotions, government hope more can implementation about scholarships policy for fore ign student. And lastly, the research also highlights the significance of enhanced coordination among state‘s authorities to stimulate the increase of foreign tourist to visit Indonesia in the coming years.
