Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous progress of network information technology, electronic commerce has got a tremendous development. It even changes people’s traditional way of transaction, and also makes a great impact on traditional enterprises. Entering the era of big data, the application of big data technology makes electronic commerce development even more faster. Using big data to develop electronic commerce has become the only way that the traditional enterprises deal with the fierce market competition, and transform to the electronic commerce.International business activities rely more and more on electronic commerce. Electronic commerce reduces the limits of time and space in international business activities, increases the efficiency of transaction, expands market space, lowers the cost of international business activities and makes transaction more convenient. Following the trend of network information and big data, making e-commerce transformation in the right time is the best way to face the competition and maintain the market position for the traditional Multi-national chain retailing enterprises. Chain retailing enterprises can use electronic commerce and big data to enter foreign markets with a lower cost. They analyse market demand deeply and arrange the goods design and production.They also can understand the different consumer groups’ preference and achieve precision marketing. Mastering big data technology is to grab a great opportunity to develop electronic commerce, which can promote the development of chain retail enterprises more coordinated, more durable. Therefore, the study of electronic commerce and big data development of the representative enterprises Wal-Mart has a great significance on the future development and transformation of related traditional chain retailing enterprises.This paper selects the traditional Multinational chain retailing enterprises WAL-MART as the study object, analysing the development history, current situation and future trend of Wal-Mart’s electronic commerce and big data. Based on the Baidu index, using SWOT model to analyse the advantages and disadvantages, the development opportunities and threats of Wal-Mart electronic commerce and big data. According to the above analysis, I summed up the development problems of Wal-Mart’s e-commerce and big data. Finally, through the systematical analysis on Wal-Mart case, I proposed some relative advices on electronic commerce and big data transformation of other traditional chain retailing enterprises from three aspects which are the development method, development mode and development idea. I hope that other chain retailing enterprises can get inspiration from Wal-Mart’s case, and make a better use of the big data to develop the electronic commerce.
