| Energy is an important foundation for human survival, the development of production technological progress and social development, and also is an important factor of national security. Energy consumption promotes economic growth, and economic growth requires the support of energy consumption, at the same time the economic growth can promote energy demand, improve the level of energy development and use, thus contributing to energy development, the relationship between the two are inseparable. China is in a critical period of modernization, economic output and energy demand is growing rapidly. And China is a vast country, the level of economic development of the regions and energy utilization varies greatly. Handle the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth, and local conditions to develop and implement economic strategies and policies for energy characteristics of different areas of energy consumption and economic development, which relations with China’s overall economic development and the policy goals of energy saving and emission reduction.This paper firstly analyzes the current research of energy consumption and economic growth,and found the deficiencies and the problems to be solved. Then expounded the theory of energy consumption and economic growth as well as the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth, and analyzes the current situation of China’s energy consumption and economic growth. Then use the knowledge of statistical and econometric, empirical study of the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth from two angles of time and space,and reached the following conclusions:there is unidirectional causality between China’s per capita energy consumption and per capita economic growth from energy consumption to the economic growth, energy strong consumpt economic growth, guarantee adequate energy supply and the necessary energy consumption, is a basic premise to ensure China’s economic growth rate. While for the division of the different economic regions whose energy relationship between energy consumption and economic growth are also different. This requires our country not only stay in the overall index control energy consumption extensively in formulating energy policy, Instead,we should through the means of innovating energy use technology,using clean energy to alternative to traditional energy sources to improve energy efficiency and so on, to better promote China’s economic growth under the protection of adequate energy supply and energy consumption necessary precondition. Different regions need to consider the differences between the different regions and the relationship between consumption and economic growth in the energy,in the development of the energy economy of energy, economic policies, and have to develop appropriate energy, economic policy consider with local conditions, and coordinate the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in different country, better implementat the national energy economic policies. Finally put forward relevant suggestions for China’s energy consumption and economic growth based on the above analysis. |
