| Traditional houses are unique tourist destinations and precipitate of history years, and the witness of economy, culture and life in an area, which has made tourists more and more enthusiastic. During the tourism, tourists have witnessed all kinds of architectural arts, enjoyed local culture and customs, and reviewed the glorious history in the travel and experienced the cultural implication of different residential area. However, in terms of the current tourism situation, the ways to get around the traditional houses tourist destinations are mostly limited. They are just walking, showing and storytelling, in which tourists can not recognize the cultural connotation in these residential buildings. Therefore, this paper, combining the tourism culture with tourism education, will do the education research of cultural awareness and protection in tourist destinations, and taking Shanxi Merchants courtyard as an example, deeply interprets the courtyard ’ s architectural culture, folk culture, Merchants education and so on. It makes tourists change tour modes in the past, and they can learn more Shanxi Merchants culture from buildings with high walls and courtyards and generate national cultural awareness. Thus they will have cultural self-confidence and eventually achieve cultural identity, which is important for the protection of cultural tourist destinations.In order to explore a tourist destination for residential education ideas, this paper, using traditional houses as the research, culture in tourist destinations as an entry point and making Shanxi Merchants courtyards as cases, conducted investigation and analyses. The thesis, from the literature review at home and abroad and cultural cognitive theories in traditional houses tourist destinations, summarized cultural characteristics in traditional houses tourist destinations and meticulously interpreted the culture in the courtyards of Shanxi Merchants. This paper, selecting four courtyards, dug into the cultural connotations of carving, customs and Shanxi Merchants education carried by courtyards in order to raise awareness of such culture. Meanwhile, this thesis, using questionnaires, analyzed the tourism value of Shanxi Merchants courtyard and the respondents’ cultural awareness of Shanxi Merchants. The study found that it is necessary to protect traditional culture carried by traditional houses tourist destinations. Only by the means of education to improve people’s cultural awareness and to generate cultural identity can the protection of the culture take into action. Based on this study, the paper, using the education means, from aspects in establishing educational philosophy of cultural protection, following the educational principles of cultural preservation and norms of cultural protection implementation, etc., puts forward educational ideas of cultural preservation in traditional houses tourist destinations, aiming at providing a reference to achieve cultural awareness and protection in traditional houses tourist destination. |
