Research On The Development Of Ecological Tourism In Hengyang

With people’s growing awareness of ecological environment, ecological tourism, which is beneficial to both human and nature, is gaining more and more recognition. “Green & Nature” seems to become the first element to inpire people to take a tour. From 1987 up to now, immigrating tourism, internal and overseas tourism is flourishing and has greatly developed tourism in China, resulting in tourism taking a greater rate in national economy and tourism becoming one of the main industries in our country’s economy, especially district economy. Taking Hengyang as an example, there are not only well-known natural sceneries but also long-lasting cultural spots. It has beautiful natural sceneries and is a famous one among the top 200 competitive cities in city tourism and is rated one of “top 20 most attractive tourism cities” by the Asian and Pacific Tourism Association and International Tourism Commerce. However, as the need for econogical tourism is increasing, Hengyang should also sought after strategies for its transformation to econogical tourism.Starting from explaining the concept of econogical tourism, this paper will analyze the structure and feature of econogical tourism system, study the internal connection between tourism industry and district economical development, discuss the features of ecological tourism industry and some principles to adhere to in the process of developing ecological tourism resources like green econogy, substantial development and econogical enthics, etc.With reference to econogical tourism development in developed countries like US, Japan, Gernamy and Australia and in developing countries such as Thailand and Kenya, references and implications for developing econogical tourism worldwide will be gained. By studying Hengyang, the papar will emphasize on the current situation of econogical tourism in Hengyang and analyze its advantages, needs and their relations for development on the basis of discussing the common features between econogical tourism industry and district economy development. Some problems are also found in Hengyang’s tourism development: traditional and old tour orgnization, singular tour products, old-fashioned management, small-sized econogical tourism enterprises, population structure and econogical tourism to be changed and underdeveloped tourism resources and a lack of innovation on the tourism products.To solve these problems, some measures to transform econogical tourism in Hengyang are put forward:(1) to enrich tourism types and create various tour products;(2) to improve macro management and innovate econogical tourism system;(3) to better design econogical tourism to meet the change of tour population;(4) to intergrate tourism resources and build excellent econogical districts;(5) to implement talent strategy and introduce more talents with good comprehensive qualities. Above all, the paper serves as a reference for developing district econogical tourism.
