Under the circumstance of electronic commerce, because of the rapid response of JIT, users’demand turn to the direction of small batch and diversification. Thus, distribution center is required to choose goods in shortest possible time for more variety and quantity of goods. Because of the complexity of the sorting method, it is extremely difficult to realize mechanized operation. As the result, choose work is very hard and low efficiency. According to the study, order picking is the hardest labor part of the distribution center and order picking cost generally accounts for30%to40%of the distribution center’s total costs. So, in the distribution center in China, order picking occupies a very important position. Order picking’s efficiency directly affects the whole level of operation and operating costs of distribution center. Low efficiency of order picking is mainly blame for unreasonable distribution of goods. As the result, efficiency of order picking orders can be improved by slotting optimization.This paper takes company W’s sorting area as the background and analyses the problems exists in sorting area. The main reason affects the order picking efficiency of distribution center sorting zone is unreasonable distribution of the goods. So, the efficiency and cost of distribution center can be improved and saved by sorting area position distribution optimization. This paper will establish a reasonable and effective optimization scheme according to specific situation of company W’s distribution center sorting area.This paper establishes the position optimization objective function according to the problems to be solved and the target to be achieved. What’s more, this paper establishes slotting optimization model aimed at improving the work efficiency, improving space utilization, increasing security. After comparing a few of the classical multi-objective optimization algorithm, this paper choses multi-objective combinatorial optimization problem as the optimization objective function. In the concrete solving process, the thesis uses EIQ method to sort the goods into3types of ABC.The research will focus on the distribution center sorting area of A goods. Multi-objective problem transforms into single objective problem by using the weighting coefficient by AHP method. Finally, this paper analysis the optimized results by using the established model and algorithm validation. Finally, this paper summaries this topic and points out and outlooks the shortage.
