Climate change, urbanization and population change has become a global trend,as the population continues to migrate from the countryside to cities, affectingproduction and huge lifestyle change on the climate has been very obvious. Find asustainable low-carbon urban development path to become a global concern, especially in China, this has a huge population, rapid economic development andurbanization became industrialized country trends. How to achieve a win-winimminent coming of population urbanization and climate change. Urbanization hasbeen proven to economic development, environmental impacts and human well-beingis important, especially in developing countries. China is in the industrialization andurbanization phase, with a time of rapid economic growth and rapid urbanization, andwill inevitably lead to an increase of living standards and improve the city’sinfrastructure needs, giving rise to a huge carbon emission to normal operation cycle, carbon budget is extremely unbalanced. At present, China has become the world’sfirst emitter (IEA,2009), analyzes the impact of urbanization dynamic characteristicsof the Chinese city of carbon dioxide emissions, how to adjust the urban Chinesegrowth, improve urban sustainable development and reduce carbon dioxide emissionsfrom China have important theoretical and practical value. This paper analyzes the urbanization influence mechanism of carbon emissions, using data2000--2013of40Chinese cities, spatial panel by constructing econometricmodel, analyze and verify the level of urbanization, urban energy consumption, urbangrowth and foreign trade on urban carbon emissions.Spatial model estimation results show: For the high-emission city, urban economic growth levels, urbanization, energy consumption and export trade have asignificant impact on the urban carbon emissions. As this article points out theprevious theoretical analysis of urbanization urban carbon emissions would indeedhave a significant role in the relationship between urbanization increased by onepercentage point, the city will make the emissions of carbon dioxide increased1.2767percent. The urban energy consumption increased by one percentage point would leadto a long-term increase in carbon dioxide emissions in the city1.2494percent. Theimport and export trade of the city’s carbon emissions have a negative impactrelationships, the city’s foreign trade increased by one percentage point, it wouldreduce carbon dioxide emissions from urban1.1727percent. For low-emissions city,in addition to the import and export trade, urban levels of economic growth, urbanization, energy consumption has a significant impact on the urban carbonemissions. Urbanization increased by one percentage point, the city will make theemissions of carbon dioxide increased0.7032percent. The urban energy consumptionincreased by one percentage point would lead to a long-term increase in carbondioxide emissions in the city1.0834percent. Urban economic growth by onepercentage point, the city will make the increase in carbon dioxide emissions by1.0752percentage points.Blindly slowing pace of urbanization can not solve the problem, in the process ofurbanization should aim to achieve reductions by improving the quality ofurbanization and energy consumption patterns and expanding the foreign trade.Improve the quality of urbanization should note the following three aspects: First, youcan increase the ecological environment and pollution control investment to reduceemissions, to regulate urban land use planning, to prevent the occurrence of urbansprawl. In the process of urbanization should pay attention to the construction of theecological environment and expand green add "carbon sinks." At the same time alsoto improve the emphasis on pollution control, pollution control facilities to improve the investment, and create a good environment. Second, we must strengthen policyguidance to encourage city residents to choose a low-carbon eco-friendly lifestyle, and promote the transformation of enterprise energy consumption patterns. Finally, areasonable planning and construction of transportation infrastructure play a clusteringeffect. And create a low-carbon consumer culture, to achieve quality improvementurbanization. In the process of economic growth, we need to pay more attention toresearch urbanization lifestyle impact on the climate. To improve energy consumptionmodel, should accelerate the process of industrial structure adjustment, reduce theenergy consumption, and improve the original way of energy utilization. Then, reduce the energy consumption of per unit of GDP.For China, how to complete the carbon emissions and maintain rapid economicgrowth target is a challenge, especially its industrialization and population is in theprocess of urbanization in high speed. As the city’s energy consumption is the mainsource of global carbon emissions, and reasonable way of urbanization, has becomean important challenge to build a low-carbon economy in developing countries. Therefore, future research will focus on the impact of carbon emissions and carbonrelated policies urbanization patterns.
