A large number of domestic and international Chinese green TFP researches haveemerged in recent years. But there are considerable differences in the existing literature onChinese green TFP calculation results. This paper tries to find the decisive factor affectingthe existing Chinese green TFP estimation results from differences in quantitative point ofview, using Meta-analysis methods that quantitatively summarized domestic and foreign75representative literatures on Chinese green TFP during2004-2013.The study found that differences in Chinese green TFP calculation results can be acertain extent attributed to the original document’s different estimation methods, dataprocessing and other selected variables. Relative to the Solow Residual (SR) method andStochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) method, using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)studies tend to get higher Chinese green TFP value. In the framework using dataenvelopment analysis, relative to the Slack-based measure (SBM) method,Malmquist—Luenberger (ML) method tends to get lower Chinese green TFP value. If thegreater the number of input factors used in the original study, the value of Chinese greenTFP will get lower, the more the amount of pollutants, as well as the higher Chinese greenTFP values. The TFP pollutants as undesirable output value obtained is significantly lowerthan the pollutants to be considered as a factor inputs TFP values. Consider sulfur dioxideand chemical oxygen demand (SO2and COD), carbon dioxide (CO2) and three kinds wastes(SF) as contaminants will reduce the value of Chinese green TFP estimates significantly.From the industry point of view, China’s industrial green TFP values are significantlygreater than the value of the country’s total green TFP level. From a regional perspective,the eastern part of the green TFP values was significantly higher than the national averagelevel. From the time trends point of view, the value of Chinese green TFP growth is risingas the study year goes. From the time span of view, with the growth of the time spanChinese green TFP value are also on the rise. Finally, comparing the Chinese TFP valuejoined environmental factors or not, we will find that the traditional TFP not considerenvironmental factors are significantly higher than the consider one.
