Study On Evaluation System Of Environmental Performance For The Listed Companies In Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

Enterprises are causing serious pollution and natural resources are getting depleted inrecent years, which is a direct threat to the ecological environment of human existence. Withthe strengthening of enterprise environmental awareness, more and more enterprises awarethat environmental factor has been an important factor in economic activity. The ways toimproving environmental performance become particularly important. Enterprises inBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, facing a deteriorating environment, should be more concernedabout the environmental performance of themselves. A timely and accurate evaluation, as wellas a continuous adjustment of policies and measures, is the only way to improveenvironmental performance.This paper, based on the sustainable development theory, the stakeholder theory,efficiency dual basic theory, regional economic integration, summarizes and analyses thelisted companies’ environmental performances in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This paper,referring the research results on environmental performance evaluation at home and abroad,based on the fact that listed companies in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region are facing seriousenvironmental problems and the imbalance of urban system development, builds evaluationsystem of environmental performance in four dimensions, which are financial dimension,internal environment dimension, external environment dimension, and learning and growthdimension. On the basis of existing research results on evaluation system of environmentalperformance, this paper introduces ethical indicator and the integration indicator ofBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, including twenty-one third class indicators, to describe listedcompanies’ environmental performances. In this paper, the three regions of the listingCorporation as an economy to determine the evaluation indicators’ weight by analytichierarchy process, and then scores the environmental performances of listed companies inBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. According to theanalyzed advantages and disadvantages of environmental performances of listed companies inBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, this paper gives policy recommendations for six aspects,including the environmental cost-benefit ratio, comprehensive utilization of the three kinds ofindustrial wastes, access to relevant environmental prize and participation in environmental protection activities, environmental information disclosure, environmental monitoring systemand environmental education and training of employees. The purposes of the policyrecommendations are to guide listed companies to adjust relevant policies and measuresaccording to their environmental performance situation, to improve the environmentalperformances of listed companies in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, to make more companiesconcern about the environment and deduce environmental pollution, to ensure a coordinateddevelopment of both business and environment, to promote the integration ofBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the environmental performance of China.
