The influence of transportation costs on spatial agglomeration of economicresources has been as the focus of regional economics and spatial economics. All thetime, since1990’s, the new economic geography has described the mutual two force--gathering and dispersing power is opposite by mathematical model, and to explainthe formation mechanism of agglomeration, which in many factors, infrastructure asthe basis of economic development, influent the costs and benefits of productiondepartment directly or indirectly, so that to influent the resource distribution in space. With the long life practice, the location condition was improved by the construction oftransport infrastructure. Nearly forming a thought that "want rich, build a road first",such as the Silk Road, the the Grande Canale between Beijing and Hangzhou inhistory, or the G4high-speed Road, the Beijing to Shanghai High-speed Rail projectof the contemporary. Traffic infrastructure construction greatly strengthened economicties between regions, and promoting the flow of the elements, reflecting the trafficconditions improve important impact on regional economic development. In the operation of the real economy, Zhejiang province has long been theeconomic agglomeration obvious characteristics since1990s, characteristics ofprofessional town, county and village are very developed; therefore, this paper takesZhejiang Province as an example, to study the effect of transport infrastructure on theeconomic agglomeration in Zhejiang province. This paper will try to put transport infrastructure into the model of new economicgeography, first using theoretical analysis and discussion of transport infrastructure oneconomic agglomeration effects, and then on the basis of theoretical analysis, andusing the relevant data of Zhejiang Province, to estimate the impact of transportinfrastructure on the economy of Zhejiang province agglomeration. The concretecontents include: firstly, based on visual analysis, mainly using the related theory ofnew economic geography and transportation and other transportation infrastructure, and detailed explanation of the mechanism of the influence of economicagglomeration, draw relevant conclusions; then, using the data of Zhejiang Province,15years of69Units at the county level, and through exploratory spatial data analysisdescription of Zhejiang, to analysis the economic agglomeration spatial distribution;then, on this basis, the use of spatial econometric model (spatial auto-correlationmodel, a spatial error model and a spatial Durbin model) and panel threshold model,to confirm the conclusion of theoretical analysis. Through theoretical analysis andempirical research, this paper draws the following conclusion: (1) Over the years between Moran index shows that the county economicagglomeration of Zhejiang Province exists a positive auto-correlation, economicagglomeration phenomenon is obvious. Spatial data analysis results show that theeconomy of Zhejiang province show as “core--peripheral distribution”.(2) From theempirical results of spatial econometric model, the transportation infrastructure ofspatial economic agglomeration and spillover effects, mainly through indirect effectsto influence the regional agglomeration economy.(3) The relationship betweenregions in the face of outside capital to enter the competition and cooperation exist atthe same time.(4) Increase in transport infrastructure supply has a significantthreshold effect of economic agglomeration.(5)With the continuous adjustment ofindustrial structure in the area, and the reform of economic development, Zhejiangprovince will further enhance the agglomeration economy. The conclusion of the study can provide evidence and future construction planningfor government departments to formulate relevant policies, this paper puts forward somereasonable traffic infrastructure construction and transportation infrastructure constructionto promote the agglomeration of economic development policy recommendations. Ofcourse, limited by the level of author, this paper still has some shortcomings, in the finalpart puts forward the prospect and the shortcomings of this study.
