Study On The Logistic Development Strategic Of Railway Large Cargo Of China Railway Special Cargo Services Co.,Ltd

Large cargos have the characteristics of complex outline, large volume, and the weight can reach several hundred of tons. These goods can be classified into super long goods, out-of-gauge goods and goods with concentrated weight. New achievement has been acquired for large cargos transportation in1990s, yet problem still exist in development. If these problems are not solved, they have become the block of meeting the demand of transport large cargos. For now though, door-to-door transportation of full logistics service is the inevitable trend of the railway large cargo logistcs. In order to dominate their competition, the railway large cargo enterprises must develop the logistics business. The China Railway Special Cargo Services Co., Ltd.(CRSCAL), a unit of China Railways Corporation, plays an important role in large goods transportation, which is the only state-owned enterprise specialises in the business.The paper firstly analyzes its necessity and feasibility to develop the third party logistics provider of large cargo enterprises. Basing on the analysis of the present status of large cargo transportation industry and the modern logistics management theory, this paper puts forward the development strategy of CRSCAL with the SWOT analysis and the SWOT quantitative optimization analysis model. This analysis reveals that the product system, services system, logistics technology and information technology are the key points to develop large cargo logistics. At the last part, the development countermeasures of door-to-door transportation of full logistics service and the large cargo transportation of project logistics are included in these strategy projects.
