There are many enterprises failing down on the way to transformation after the glory inthe history of enterprise development. However, the phenomenon does not bring enoughwarning. There are many new enterprises still keeping falling into the “trap” of thetransformation after the glory.It is undoubtedly that exploring how the enterprises avoid sliding into decline after thesuccess rapidly has an important practical value for all kinds of enterprises which are on thepeak or trying to get to the peak.In theory, it is known that the Schumpeterian innovation and technological progress playvery important role on management and development of the enterprises. It is also quitecommon to find the research on enterprise strategy from the perspective of ability andknowledge. However, there are relatively scarce research on enterprise strategic change andability management under the transformation of technological paradigm.Therefore, this study attempts to take Kodak as a case study, trying to describe andanalyze the bankruptcy process of Kodak, and look for the various factors that impede thesuccessful companies such as Kodak turning to new technological paradigms. The study triesto find the key factor that help the enterprise turn to new technological paradigm and crack the“curse” that why these enterprises decline after glory.It clears the research problem of this study and proposes that takes the Kodak companybankruptcy event as a case study. In addition, it also determines to understand the reason whyKodak Company bankrupt from the perspective of technological paradigm transformation.Firstly, it review and summarize all kinds of literatures which analyze the reasons of thebankruptcy of Kodak directly and further clarify the key to Kodak bankruptcy that it fails to adapt and respond to the technological paradigm transformation. Subsequently, the paperreview and summarize literature of the technological paradigm shift and enterprise Corecapabilities’ rigidities.The article describes Kodak bankruptcy process. It review the important events in thehistory of development of Kodak Company, especially describing all the important decisionsand actions that Kodak made and took to deal with the relationship between the traditionalfilm industry and digital technology.The article is about the analysis of the case from the perspective of technology paradigmshift and enterprise capabilities. It also analyzes the results for reliability and validitytesting.The last chapter summarizes and explores the management meaning behind thebankruptcy of Kodak.
