In order to produce high-tech cold-rolled products, enhance the competitiveness ofcompany, Benxi Iron and Steel Company invests billions of RMB to construct the coldrolling project. Continuous galvanizing line(CGL) is the most important line thatproduces high-grade automotive and appliances plates. As the other large-scalemetallurgy projects, throughout the whole preparation process, CGL project needovercome the problems, such as large scale, complex structures and constructiontechnology, long construction period. Therefore, in the CGL project if it can controlproject progress control, arrange a reasonable period, the return on investment of theproject will have a significant impact. In the thesis, Benxi Iron and Steel CGL project is used as an example, it mainlyresearches and analyzes on the progress of the project from the following aspects:Firstly, the author Introduces and analyzes the cold rolling project;simultaneously, the problems of the preparation and implementation in the projectschedule are analyzed, and targeted recommendations are made.Secondly, in the preparation of project schedule, the paper analyzes the traditionalproject schedule which uses the Critical Path Method; and then simulation and analysisare made with Critical Chain Project Management. The simulation results reflects theadvancements of the Critical Chain Project Management. Finally, through the analysis improvement of the project schedule management inthe CGL project, it summarizes the factors that affect reasons of the project schedule;meanwhile, by using the Critical Chain Project Management in the sub-project of theproject, it proves the important role of the Critical Chain Project Management in projectmanagement.
