Quality Control On Infant Formula Milk-based Powder: A Case Study On Daqing Diary Company

In recent years, the proportion of the infant formula milk powder in milkpowder market in China gradually rises, the demand of infant formula milk powderin our country has reached400thousands tons, such a huge market demand hasbrought huge profits for infant formula milk powder production enterprises. But atpresent in our country’s infant milk powder market, the foreign milk powder brandshave more advantage, especially in the high-end consumer market, foreign brandsare occupying unpredictable and absolute advantage. According to statistics, themarket share of foreign milk powder brands，such as abbott laboratories, nestle,dumex and wyeth，has reached80%~90%.Although in recent years, domesticpowder manufacturers are constantly looking for upgrade space, but compared withforeign brands, there still has gap both in technical and management, includinginfant formula powder production starts late in our country, the product research anddevelopment ability is insufficient, lead to the low quality and market demand.Under the above background, this paper uses theories and methods of theproduction operation management and quality management, through the example ofinfant formula milk powder production process of daqing brand，to study theimprovement of the quality of infant formula milk powder products. The paper isdivided into four parts:The first chapter is introduction. Based on the present background of the lowquality infant milk powder, we put forward the purpose and meaning of this paper.Infant formula powder quality and safety problems are the most basic and important livelihood issues, related to the harmonious and stable development of society. Basedon quality control of milk powder production process of daqing brand in our country,the paper studies the infant formula milk quality control strategy. It has strongpractical significance for ensuring the stability of infant formula powder productquality and reconstructing of domestic infant milk images in the eyes of consumers.Then, we give the specific ideas and basic framework of the study.The second chapter includes present situation and existing problems of infantformula milk powder production. First based on the quality data, the studyintroduces the quality status of infant formula powder production of daqing dairy,including production flow and quality management status. Secondly according to theexisting production process and management status, we use quality managementtools, such as man, machine, material, method and ring, find out the problems anddefects of formula powder in the process of production.The third chapter analysis of the causes of quality problems of infant formulamilk production. Through the applicability of the production process and operation,raw materials, product traceability, risk monitoring and control, personnel qualityconsciousness and ability gap of management and operating, this section uses qualitymanagement theory and method, analysis of reasons of quality problems fromquality planning, quality control, quality management system, and find out the mainfactors which lead to product quality problems.The fourth chapter introduces the design and implementation of quality controlscheme in infant formula powder production process. By analyzing the reasons ofquality problem in infant formula milk production process, we set a feasibleoptimization scheme, according to the optimization of the quality and safetymanagement system, study the design and implementation of quality control schemein infant formula powder production process, from the improvement andoptimization of production technology system, the design of the key quality point of control technology, establishment of the system of good manufacturing practices, aswell as the implementation of total quality management and PDCA circulationmethod.The last is the conclusion. Through the study of this paper, we summarize themethods and means to improve the quality of infant formula milk product in ourcountry, and discuss how to improve the quality of infant formula milk as well as thetrend of quality management in the future. The study provides a certain way andmethod for the enterprises, to meet the demand of market, government andconsumers.
